Cherokee Sheriff’s Office has once again joined with the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to be part of the H.E.A.T. – Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic – program. H.E.A.T. is designed to educate the public and enforce laws related to impaired and aggressive driving.  Sgt. John Brookshire supervises the H.E.A.T. Unit that includes two additional deputies.

Woodstock Police Department was dispatched on May 2, 2018 at 12:18pm to an accident involving a vehicle versus a pedestrian on Trickum Road north of Highway 92. The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office had three motor units competing in the Georgia Police and Fire Games Motorcycle Rodeo Competition this past Saturday, April 14, 2018. Canton Police Department was dispatched to a motorcycle accident at 1:05pm on Thursday, April 12, 2018 on the I-575 NB off ramp to Riverstone Parkway. This intensive 80-hour course developed 12 individual Law Enforcement Officers with the skills necessary to operate police motorcycles in low speed environments as well as high speed pursuits. Cherokee Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to 153 Chickasaw Run in Woodstock at 5:59pm in reference to a male at the residence who was possibly intoxicated and threatening to harm himself and others.
