Sgt. Marianne Kelley is the Public Information Officer for the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office. On a daily basis Sgt. Kelley communicates with and responds to requests from reporters from various news organizations locally and regionally.
Sgt. Kelley started her career with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office in 1998. Sgt. Kelley graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Criminal Justice prior to beginning her career in law enforcement with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office. Sgt. Kelley obtained a Master’s Degree in Public Safety Administration from Columbus State University and is a graduate of the Columbus State University Professional Management Program. Sgt. Kelley began her career working in the Adult Detention Center then went on to serve in Uniform Patrol, Internal Affairs, and Criminal Investigations Division supervising the Crimes Against Children unit before becoming the Public Information Officer.
