Domestic Dispute

Acworth, Cherokee County GA. June 14, 2010 - Cherokee Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic dispute at a residence off Lee Path in Acworth overnight. A female was assaulted by her husband. The suspect, Paul Taylor, 44 years old of Acworth, shot at his wife as she ran from the home. The round missed the wife. Taylor ran into the woods behind his home with a rifle following the incident. While deputies were on the scene setting up a perimeter they heard single gunshot in the woods behind the home.

The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team responded to the area and conducted a search of the woods surrounding the incident location. A second search of the woods after sunrise was conducted with negative results. As of now, Taylor has not been located. 

It is unknown if Taylor is still in the area. He is currently wanted for Aggravated Assault and Battery. Taylor is described as 5 foot 8 inches weighing approximately 140 pounds. He has short gray hair and brown eyes. Residents that live in the area surrounding Woodstock Road and Lee Drive are urged to contact 911 if they see anyone matching his description walking in the woods or along the road.
