Body Found

Ball Ground, Cherokee County GA. July 8, 2010 - Cherokee Sheriff’s Office detectives located a body in a creek Wednesday night in Ball Ground. Deputies were dispatched to a location on Old Nelson Road near Jordan Road at approximately 10pm. They met with John Davis who advised his brother, Donald Davis, 43 years old of Jasper, had been reported missing on July 6th but was last seen on June 26th. John advised deputies that he had located his brother’s jeep stuck in the mud on a power line in the area. John also advised deputies that his brother was diabetic and required insulin on a regular basis.

Cherokee Sheriff’s Office detectives and a K-9 searched the area. A detective located Davis’ body in a creek approximately fifty feet from his vehicle. It appeared that Davis had died days earlier. Davis’ body has been sent to the crime lab to determine the cause of death but there is no foul play suspected at this time.
