Hillhouse Lodge

Canton, Cherokee County GA. July 19, 2010 - Cherokee Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating five burglaries that occurred on June 12th at the Hillhouse Lodge Lake Community on Lake Allatoona. It is suspected that at least 3 teenagers were involved in the incidents which likely occurred over a number of hours. Numerous items were stolen from and around 5 trailers in the lakeside community including kayaks, pellet guns, life vests, an Ipod, and beer. It is believed that one of the suspects suffered a severe cut to his hand or arm while breaking a window to gain entry into one of the trailers. A significant amount of blood was observed at the crime scene. Rangers from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and sheriff’s office detectives located 4 of the stolen kayaks, paddles, and life vests approximately 200 yards from the Hillhouse Lodge. The property was returned to the rightful owners.

A witness reporting speaking to 3 teenagers on the kayaks, which at the time were not known to be stolen, at approximately 4:30pm. The suspects are black teenage males. It is believed the suspects entered and exited the lakeside community through the Bridgemill subdivision. It is possible the suspects live in Bridgemill.
