Hillhouse Lodge Arrests

Canton, Cherokee County GA. July 23, 2010 - Cherokee Sheriff’s Office investigators made three arrests Thursday in connection with multiple burglaries that occurred earlier this month at the Hillhouse Lodge Lake Community near Bridgemill. Two of the suspects remain in custody at the Cherokee Adult Detention Center. Xavier Jones, 19 years old of Canton, is charged with 9 counts of Burglary and 1 count of Possession of Tools to Commit a Crime. His bond has been set at $112,000.00. Joseph Carson, 17 years old of Canton, was charged with 5 counts of Party to the Crime of Burglary. His bond has been set at $56,000.00. The third suspect was a juvenile. He is charged with 9 counts of Burglary, Possession of Tools to Commit a Crime, and Theft of a Motor Vehicle. He remains in custody at the Paulding County Youth Detention Center.

Property stolen from the lodge trailers was located in Xavier’s Bridgemill Home. The property has been returned to the rightful owners.

A large amount of blood was left at the crime scene. It was suspected one of the perpetrators cut his hand breaking glass on the door of one of the trailers to gain entry. At the time of his arrest, Jones had severe cuts to 2 of his fingers. A search warrant for DNA comparison will be obtained by investigators.
