Damage to Sign Trailer

Canton, Cherokee County GA. August 24, 2010 - Cherokee Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating an incident that left one of the agency’s mobile sign trailers severely damaged. Deputies were dispatched to the Bridgemill subdivision early Saturday morning and located the sign in the roadway. The sign, valued at $14,000.00, had been toppled over by what is believed to be multiple juveniles. The sign is used throughout the county to distribute community information and to advise drivers of their speed. It is unlikely the sign can be repaired.

The sheriff’s office is offering a reward in this case. An Xbox 360 Console ($300.00 value) will be given to the first person that comes forward and provides information leading to the arrest of the suspects who damaged the sign trailer. Anyone with any information related to this incident is urged to contact detectives at 770-928-0239.

“We are confident that this crime was committed by juveniles and our intent in offering this type reward is to get the youth in that community talking about this incident which we hope will lead to an arrest”.
