Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. February 17, 2012.
The Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad (C.M.A.N.S.) has been participating in a month long multi-jurisdictional investigation that has netted 4 arrests and the seizure of approximately 12 pounds of Marijuana, 3 indoor Marijuana grow operations, and 106 Marijuana plants. CMANS agents in conjunction with the GBI Regional Drug Office in Canton, GBI West Metro Task Force, North East Georgia Major Offenders Task Force, Hall County MANS Unit, Atlanta Police Narcotics Unit, Dawson County Sheriff's Office, Cherokee Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit and narcotics agents from Dawson, Hall, and Gwinnett Counties have executed search and arrest warrants in each of the counties listed above.
The investigation began with a tip from the public and culminated in the arrests yesterday of Ollie Marchbanks, 32 years old of Snellville, Noah Sanders, 36 years old of Dawsonville, Graig Medon, 33 years old of Gainesville, and Madeline Stoddard, 25 years old of Gainesville. Marchbanks is charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Marijuana and is currently out of jail on an $11,200.00 bond. Sanders was charged with 2 Counts of Conspiracy to Distribute Marijuana and remains in custody at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with a $22,400.00 bond. Medon was charged with Manufacturing Marijuana and was released under an $11,200 bond. Stoddard was charged with Felony Possession of Marijuana and has been released on an $11,200.00 bond.
Two indoor Marijuana grow operations were located in homes on Ernie Road in Eastern Cherokee County. One indoor Marijuana grow operation was located in Hall County. This investigation remains ongoing and more arrests are likely.
