Once again the Thanksgiving Holiday is upon us and Sheriff Garrison reminds us to be cautious and safe when we take to the roads. With the holiday season upon us there will be more vehicles on the roadway. Sheriff Garrison would like us to remind drivers to be cautious and courteous when driving. He also encourages the use of cell phones to report intoxicated and aggressive drivers. Remember to watch your speed and distance when traveling behind other vehicles. The Sheriff plans to increase patrol on the roadways to assist the motorist of Cherokee County.
If traveling, remember to take winter precautions on your vehicle. Sheriff Garrison recommends a safety driving kit to include bottled water, flashlight with charged batteries, cell phone and flares. When shopping at businesses, try to properly secure purchased items in the trunk or out of view to deter a theft. When shopping try to car pool or ride in a group, this will help keep less vehicles on the roadway. The holidays are a time of celebration and joy, but we cannot forget to stay safe and cautious to our surroundings. Sheriff Garrison wishes everyone a safe and joyous holiday season.
