Press Release Armed Robbery

May 1 2002

Freehome, Cherokee County, Ga. May 1, 2002. At approximately 4:10 p.m. on April 30, 2002, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded to the Wachovia bank located off of Highway 20 in Freehome. A white male approximately 30 years in age walked into the bank and gave the teller a note demanding an undisclosed amount of money. The man kept a hand in his pocket where he alluded to a weapon, but nothing was ever brandished. Upon leaving the bank, the tellers were able to get a description of the car the perpetrator was driving. Cherokee County Sheriff's Office deputies located the car and with the assistance of the K-9 unit, search the area. The car has been impounded by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office where it is being processed for evidence.
