Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. June 5, 2002.
After midnight on May 5 and May 13, 2002 the Three Way Grocery located on Kellogg Creek Road was burglarized. The perpetrator took several cartons of cigarettes. On both occasions the perpetrator gained entry by smashing the glass of the front door. After midnight on May 16, 2002 a similar burglary occurred at the Cherokee Bait and Tackle also located on Kellogg Creek Road. The burglary took place in the same manner as the Three Way Grocery.
During the investigation, Detective Weber and Detective Ledford were able to attain video pictures from security cameras. The video pictures were posted in the area and enabled a positive identification of the perpetrator. Tim Sheats, 27 years of age, of Acworth was charged with two counts of burglary for the Three Way Grocery incident and one count of burglary for the incident at Cherokee Bait and Tackle. Sheats is currently being held at the Cherokee Adult Detention Center with a bond set at $22,100.
