Press Release May Criminal Investigation Division Statistics

Woodstock, Cherokee County, Ga. June 5, 2002. During the month of May 2002, The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) reported a total of 518 cases assigned. Out of the 518 cases filed, $262,287 in property value was stolen. As a result of these cases being solved, $148,762 or 56% of stolen property has been recovered. In the 518 cases filed in May, 236 or 45% were solved this month alone.

CID has been assigned 2,478 cases year-to-date with 1,244 or 50% being resolved. The amount of property stolen to date is $1,059,148. Of that property amount, $579,932 or 47% has been recovered so far this year. The information coming from the community aides the Criminal Investigation Division in the successful outcome in so many cases filed through the division.
