Press Release Serious Injury Car Crash

July 24, 2002

Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. July 24, 2002. On Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at approximately 12:00 p.m.. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a vehicle crash with possible serious injury.

The crash occurred on Highway 20. A tan Acura was traveling westbound on Highway 20 where it crossed over the centerline and struck a Kenworth logging truck traveling eastbound on Highway 20.

The driver of the tan Acura, Tamara Owen, 49 years of age, Ellijay, Ga. received critical injuries from the crash and was transported to Atlanta Medical Hospital. The driver of the logging truck, Thrasher Ronnie, 47 years of age of Cumming, Ga. received minor injuries and was transported to North Fulton Regional Hospital The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the vehicle crash.
