Press Release Kidnapping Arrest

July 30, 2002

Woodstock, Cherokee County, Ga. July 30, 2002. Detectives with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office are investigating a kidnapping that occurred on July 16, 2002. David Mosley, 19 years of age of Jasper, Ga. met several of his high school friends at a local bar in Kennesaw. Ambretta Tritt, 18 years of age of Talking Rock, Ga. was also at the bar. Mosley and his friends were approached by an acquaintance, later identified as Gerald Walker, who offered Mosley and his friend's money for a ride home.

Tritt and Mosley decided to give Walker a ride to a Cherokee County address. Once on Kellogg Creek Road Walker held a knife to Mosley's throat. After entering South Fork subdivision, Walker had Tritt exit the vehicle and he forced Mosley into the trunk. As Walker drove off, Mosley was able to pull the emergency latch in the trunk and escape.

The investigation has resulted in numerous arrests including:

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is still actively seeking the whereabouts of two offenders in the crime. Gerald Walker, 43 years of age of Woodstock, Ga. has active warrants for kidnapping with bodily injury, theft by taking a motor vehicle, aggravated assault with a weapon and armed robbery. Walker is considered armed and dangerous.

Vance Allen, 44 years of age of Woodstock, Ga. also has active warrants against him. His warrants are for party to commit a crime of kidnapping, party to the crime of aggravated assault, party to a crime of armed robbery.
