Woodstock, Cherokee County, Ga. July 31, 2002.
On May 24, 2002 a victim living in Cherokee County filed a report concerning identity fraud. The first victim noticed a Wal-Mart credit card was opened in his name. There was also a second card issued to the victim in his name. Information in the investigation led to the identity of the offender, Shannon Nesmith Lester. The whereabouts of Lester at that time were unknown.
On July 8, 2002, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office took another report concerning identity fraud. The second victim had a credit card and second card issued in their name. Investigation of the second victim led to the location of Lester.
Shannon Nesmith Lester, 33 years of age of Marietta, Ga. is charged with two counts of financial identity fraud. Lester's bond is set at $2,300. Lester has since bonded out of the Cherokee Adult Detention Center.
