Press Release Arrest in Armed Robbery

Woodstock, Cherokee County, Ga. August 8, 2002. On August 6, 2002, the City of Woodstock had a robbery occur at the Bank of Woodstock. Tellers and witnesses from the bank were able to give a description of the perpetrator. Dispatch was able to put a lookout over the radio for the perpetrator so all local agencies could help in the location of the perpetrator and the vehicle. Approximately ten minutes later Deputy Will Rownd, with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, was off duty driving on Bells Ferry Road when he noticed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect's car. Deputy Sheriff Rownd conducted a traffic stop and placed the suspect into custody

Donald Jowers, 26 years of age, of Cartersville, Ga is currently being charged with two counts of robbery by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. The robberies in Cherokee County occurred on June 29th at the SouthTrust Bank in the Publix and on July 23rd at the First Union Bank on Sixes Road. The City Of Woodstock has two charges of robbery against Jowers for bank robberies occurring within the city limits. Cobb County also has one count of Robbery pending. The Federal Bureau of Investigations also had charges pending.
