Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. August 14, 2002.
At approximately 9:30 a.m. deputies from the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded to a fatal car crash on Arbor Hill Road with a cross street of Gaddis Road.
A green Toyota Sierra and a silver Ford Expedition were traveling on Arbor Hill Road where they crashed.
The driver of the Toyota Sierra, Margarita Penaherrea, 33 years of age of Marietta, Ga. died on impact of the crash.
Ryan Nilsen, 20 years of age of Woodstock, Ga., the driver of the Ford Expedition, sustained critical injuries and was life-flighted to Grady Memorial Hospital. The passenger of the Expedition, Alan Welch, 20 years of age of Woodstock, Ga. sustained no injuries.
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the fatal car crash.
