Press Release Serious Injury Car Crash

Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. September 12, 2002. At approximately 5:00 p.m.. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a vehicle crash with possible serious injury.

The crash occurred on Birmingham Road just south of Highway 372. A gray Ford pickup was traveling south on Birmingham Road where, preliminary investigation indicates, it crossed over the centerline and struck a white Sierra truck, traveling north, head on.

The driver and passenger of the gray pickup truck received serious injuries from the crash and were ground transported to North Fulton Regional Hospital.

The driver of the white Sierra sustained critical injuries and was life-flighted to a local hospital. The passenger of the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was ground transported to North Fulton Regional Hospital.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the vehicle crash.
