Press Release Aggravated Assault

Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. September 13, 2002. At approximately 4:30 a.m. the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded to Kellogg Creek Road in reference to a male that had been shot.

The Cherokee County Criminal Investigations Division is investigating a 33 year old male that was ordered to get out of a pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed on Kellogg Creek going towards Acworth. As the male victim attempted to leave the pickup, he was shot in the rear left shoulder with an unknown caliber of weapon at point blank range. The victim sustained serious injuries and is being treated at a local hospital.

The Cherokee County Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the incident. Anyone that has any information regarding suspicious activity in the Kellogg Creek Road area in the past twenty-four hours is asked to call The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office at 770-928-0239.
