Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. September 17, 2002.
The Cherokee County Criminal Investigations Division is looking for one of the perpetrators being charged in incident involving the girl found beaten in the woods on Upper Sweetwater Trail last Thursday. The victim called 911 from a cell phone in hopes authorities would be able to locate and help her.
Interviews of witnesses and the victim of the cell phone incident gave The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Detectives enough evidence to swear warrants against Edward Matthew Berger, 22 years of age of Acworth, Ga on charges of Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery and Kidnapping with Serious Bodily Injury. Berger is believed to be in the Bartow County, Acworth area.
