Serious Injury Crash

Woodstock, Cherokee County, Ga. November 26, 2002  The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating a serious injury car crash that occurred Tuesday morning at approximately 7:00 a.m..

The crash occurred on Dogwood Lane in Shadowood Mobile Home Park. A van was traveling through the mobile home park when it struck a sixteen-year-old juvenile that was waiting for the school bus.

Laura Simpkins, thirty-three years of age of Woodstock, was the driver of the van. The sixteen-year-old juvenile suffered serious injuries and was ground transported to Kennestone Hospital where she is in stable condition.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the scene. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
