Traffic Stop Arrest

Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. February 21, 2003  On February 14, 2003, at approximately 11:50 p.m. the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop at Ga Highway 108 and Friendship Road. Once the vehicle was pulled over by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, the driver of the vehicle was patted down for officer safety at which time a concealed weapon was found. The driver of the vehicle fled from the scene into surrounding woods. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit was asked for assistance in finding the driver. K-9 Spam was able to track the scent of the driver and locate him approximately 100 yards from where the vehicle was stopped.

The driver of the vehicle, Jeremy Dickerson, 25 years of age of Canton was charged with possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of Drug Related Objects, Prescription not in Original Container, Possession of Tools for Commission of Crime, Possession of a Concealed Weapon, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, Misdemeanor Obstruction of a Peace Officer and other traffic charges. Dickerson was held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center where his bond was set at $41,200.
