Waleska, Cherokee County, Ga. March 17, 2003  The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded to 901 Reinhardt College Parkway (Johnson's Mini Mart) in reference to an alarm call.

Upon arrival Deputy Sheriff D. Combs observed an unoccupied vehicle parked in front of JP's Market, which is to the right of Johnson's Mini Mart. As D/S Combs approached the Mini Mart he noticed a suspect wearing a mask standing near the corner of the building. Once the suspect saw D/S Combs approach he attempted to flee the area. D/S Combs apprehended the suspect and was able to ascertain the suspect attempted to break into Johnson's Mini Mart by breaking a window with a concrete block.

Travis Vines, 23 years of age of Canton, Ga was charged with Burglary, Criminal Damage, wearing hoods and masks, Failure to Appear and four counts of deposit account fraud. Vines is currently being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with a bond of $21,070.
