Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. May 5, 2003   In a continuing effort to maintain integrity and to ensure the public trust in the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, Sheriff Roger Garrison is again announcing the policy in reporting any commendations or allegations towards any of the deputies or agency personnel.

Sheriff Garrison encourages citizens to report any incidents and allegations of misconduct by deputies or to commend an employee of his Office. These incidents can range from foul to abusive language, gestures, threats, harassment, or those who may be involved in illegal activity. Corrective measures will involve a verbal warning or reprimands, remedial training, suspension and can lead to termination. Citizens must be certain the complaints are legitimate and not as a result of speeding ticket or valid arrest.

Those with a complaint or commendation should report the action to the offending deputy's supervisor or if not available to the following personnel:
