Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. May 9, 2003 The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is proud to announce the new Public Safety Facility received Facility of the Month from the Correctional News publication. The Correctional News is a nationwide publication that writes in-depth articles regarding issues correctional facilities are currently facing or future issues and technology that is being made available. Correctional News chose Cherokee County for facility of the month due to the innovative planning and technology of the facility. Correctional News applauded Sheriff Garrison and the Facility Group for their ability to finish the facility seven days before deadline and right on budget. It is quiet an honor to receive this recognition for our efforts in planning and technology at our new Detention Facility.
