Serious Injury Car Crash Follow Up

Woodstock, Cherokee County, Ga. May 15, 2003   At approximately 7:30 a.m. the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a vehicle crash with possible serious injury.

The crash occurred on I-575 northbound at the Little River Bridge. The two vehicles involved were a Chevrolet Suburban and a Toyota Tacoma.

The driver of the Chevrolet Suburban, Ayinde C. Raines 29 years of age of Marietta, Ga. was ejected from the vehicle and was air- ambulanced to North Fulton Regional Hospital. The driver of the Toyota Tacoma was not injured.

During the investigation of the crash, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Traffic Enforcement Unit received information that one person was possibly unaccounted for from one of the vehicles. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division has been unable to substantiate a third person being involved in the crash.

Charges are pending against the driver of the Suburban by The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Traffic Enforcement Unit.
