Woodstock, Cherokee County, Ga. June 10, 2003 At approximately 10:15 a.m., on June 5, 2003, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a vehicle crash with possible serious injury on Bells Ferry Road.
The crash occurred on Bells Ferry Road at Lake Forest Drive. A tractor-trailer was traveling southbound on Bells Ferry Road attempting to make a U-turn when it crashed into a motorcycle traveling northbound on Bells Ferry Road.
The driver of the motorcycle, Mark Bonner, 30 years of age of Emerson, Ga. died Friday night from injuries sustained during the crash. The driver of the tractor-trailer, Elmer Yancey, 61 years of age, Dacula, Ga was not injured.
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the crash.
