Woodstock, Cherokee County, Ga. June 30, 2003  On June 28, 2003, Deputy Sheriff L. Stewart of The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office was performing an extra patrol of 3654 James Road due to an attempted burglary of the residence four days previous. Deputy Stewart noticed a suspicious vehicle at the residence that did not belong there. The deputy went up to the residence to see if he could find the driver of the vehicle. The front door of the residence opened where the deputy was face to face with the suspect. After interviewing the suspect and finding evidence of forced entry to the residence, the deputy was able to determine the suspect was attempting to burglarize the residence.

Randall Fortner, 32 years of age of Acworth, Ga. is charged with Burglary and possession of tools for the commission of a crime. Fortner is currently being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with a bond amount of $16,600.
