Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. July 2, 2003 On July 1, 2003, at approximately 12:30 p.m. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded to 2281 Cumming Highway near Key Drive regarding a tractor-trailer hitting a residence.
A tractor-trailer was traveling on Cumming Highway traveling towards Canton when it approached a curve in the road nears Key Drive. The truck, traveling too fast for conditions due to the weather, was unable to negotiate the curve and went off the right side of the road, striking a power pole and gas line and coming to rest in the living room of a residence. One of the residents was inside the house at the time of the crash and received no injuries.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, Richard Pickett 36 years of age of Kentucky was not injured in the crash.
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the scene of the crash.
