Woodstock, Cherokee County, Ga. July 7, 2003 The Cherokee County Sheriff's received complaints from neighbors in the community near Centennial Golf Course of a suspicious male lurking around their children in the neighborhood.
Acting on information gathered from the neighborhood, the Criminal Investigations Division was able to identify and take the subject into custody. CID later attained information from the suspect that he was posing as an undercover officer to male children 13-15 years of age. The suspect, identified as Jimmy Lee Robertson, 50 years of age of Bartow County, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. Robertson is a registered sex offender and still on active probation in Bartow County. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office arrested Robertson on charges of impersonating a peace officer and enticing a child for indecent purposes. Robertson is currently being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with no bond. Bartow County has a hold on Robertson for Violation of Probation.
Sheriff Roger Garrison credits members of the neighborhood for their vigilance and providing deputies with information that led to Robertson's arrest.
