New K-9

Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. August 1, 2003  Sheriff Garrison would like to introduce a new K-9 to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. K-9 Marco is a 16-month-old Belgian Malinios that has been with the K-9 unit for a month and is assigned to Deputy Sheriff M. Azaroff. K-9 Marco is trained in explosive detection and K-9 Patrol. As well as explosive detection, the new K-9 is used for apprehension, tracking suspects and handler protection. K-9 Marco will replace K-9 Bart, the current explosive detection K-9, who is retiring.
