Kidnapping Arrest

Woodstock, Cherokee County, Ga. September 9, 2003  At approximately 1:30 p.m. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded to Jack Frost Auto Sales off Highway 92 regarding a possible kidnapping.

The victim called Cherokee County 911 to alert officials that she was being held against her will by her ex-boyfriend. The victim was taken from DeKalb County by her ex-boyfriend who stated he wanted to look at a vehicle that was located at the Jack Frost vehicle lot in Woodstock, Ga. Deputies from the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded and placed the suspect into custody for warrants out of Savannah, Ga. Because the incident started in DeKalb County, the case has been turned over to DeKalb County for further investigation.

The suspect, Donald Smith, 33 years of age of Stone Mountain, Ga., is currently being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center on Chatham County charges as well as charges from Florida.
