Person Shot Update

Acworth, Cherokee County, Ga. September 22, 2003  At approximately 10:40 p.m. on September 21, 2003 the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded to 5497 East Emerald Court in reference to a person being shot. Upon arrival, the deputies were given information that a vehicle pulled into the cul-de-sac and turned the headlights off in front of the residence and fired shots. One of the bullets went through the front bedroom window of the residence. The resident of the bedroom, Betty Jean Robinson, 66 years of age died from the gunshot wound.

The Cherokee County Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI) are currently processing the crime scene for evidence.
