Vehicle Crash

Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. October 1, 2003  At approximately 4:15 p.m., Tuesday, September 30, 2003, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a vehicle crash on Earney Road.

A Ford Ranger was traveling down Earney Road on the wrong side of the street when it crashed into a Cable Satellite Truck. The driver of the Ford Ranger fled the scene on foot. Deputies were able to place the driver into custody a short distance from the crash scene. James Norris, 27 years of age of Flowery Branch was charged with DUI, driving left of center and leaving the scene of an accident. Norris is being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with a bond set at $2,230.

Sheriff Garrison would like to remind spectators visiting the PGA Event that deputies will be enforcing all traffic laws including driving under influence violations.
