Red Ribbon Week

Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. October 27, 2003  Sheriff Roger Garrison, Deputy Carl Pope and K-9 Spam kicked off red ribbon week at Dean Rusk Middle School. Red Ribbon week is a National Week of Drug and Alcohol Awareness local school systems use to educate children on how to be safe and avoid substances that can cause harm to their bodies. More than 500 children came to listen to the Sheriff and D/S Pope discuss drug and alcohol safety and awareness. This mornings events at Dean Rusk was the first of several school programs scheduled this week.
