Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. November 14, 2003 On November 11, 2003, Deputies from the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Warrant Division attempted to execute an arrest warrant at 4035 Earney Road. In an attempt to identify the suspect who opened the door, deputies went in the residence to obtain a written identification. The deputies were in a bedroom when they noticed a substance on the bed that appeared to be marijuana. Deputies obtained a search warrant for the entire residence and found a very sophisticated indoor marijuana growing system located in the basement. The adult plants were grown in a complete hydroponic system (plants grown completely in water with no soil) The suspect also had two other rooms that were used for cloning and germination. Deputies and drug agents located approximately 46 plants in the residence. The suspect that was arrested was not the original person that deputies were attempting to serve the arrest warrant. John William Dinsmore, 30 years of age of Canton is charged with trafficking Marijuana. Dinsmore is being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.
