Press Release
Holiday Traffic

Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. November 25, 2003  With the holiday season upon us drivers need to be cautious and courteous while driving because there will be more vehicles on the roadways.

While traveling this holiday season, Sheriff Garrison would like to remind everyone to have their cell phones with them when in your vehicle to report any type of emergencies and intoxicated or aggressive drivers on the roadway. It is also recommended to keep a driving safety kit in your vehicle which should include: bottled water, flashlight with charged batteries, cell phone and flares. When shopping at businesses, try to properly secure purchased items in the trunk or out of view to deter a theft. When shopping try to carpool or ride in a group this will help keep less vehicles on the roadway. The holidays are a time of celebration and joy, but we cannot forget to stay safe and cautious to our surroundings.
