Kidnapping

Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. December 1, 2003  The Cherokee County Multi-Agency Narcotic Unit (CMANS) responded to the Homestead Inn located in Canton regarding a narcotics complaint. The agents recovered narcotics from the suspect in question and through their investigation noticed the suspect's truck contained alleged stolen items. The CMANS agents were attempting to gain further information concerning the vehicle when they heard moaning noises coming from the pop up camper that was hitched to the vehicle. The agents located a male victim in the camper who was bound and assaulted.

Detectives from the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office assisted CMANS in their investigation and learned the assault occurred earlier on December 1, 2003 at a residence located off of Crystal Springs in Canton. Detectives arrested:

Tommy Alfred Johnson, 33 years of age of Canton with charges of kidnapping with serious bodily injuries and multiple drug charges. Johnson is currently being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center without a bond.

Colleen Pelz, 25 years of age of Woodstock, Ga is charged with party to a crime and a 48-hour parole hold. Pelz is currently being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with a bond of $5,550.
