Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. December 29, 2003 On Saturday, December 27, 2003, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded to Upper Sweetwater Trail off of Highway 20 regarding a body found in a lake.
Investigators with The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) and the GBI Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene to investigate the incident. The female body was recovered at approximately 11:30 p.m. and was turned over to the Crime Lab for positive identification and cause of death. A positive identification determined the body to be Lisa Walker Landers, 38 years of age, of Kennesaw. The official cause of death is pending a toxicology report.
