Press Release
Suspicious Person

Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. January 28, 2004  The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office has taken two incident reports regarding an individual who has represented himself as a law enforcement official. In both incidents a white car with a single blue light in the dash has stopped a female. The incidents occurred on Killian Street off of Univeter Road and Highway 140 near Waleska. The description the complaints have given is a white male, approximately late 20's to early 30's, wearing a blue uniform with a single "Sheriff" patch on the left shoulder, no name tag and a shield type badge. The subject appeared to be wearing a gun belt with a side arm. To this point the male has approached the car and asked for a license and given an explanation that he needs to check credentials on the vehicle and then allows the females to leave.
