Dog Bite

Woodstock, Cherokee County, Ga. February 6, 2004  At approximately 8:30 am, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded 626 Spanish Oak Drive regarding a child that was bitten by a dog.

Deputies received information that a three year old and a nine-year-old brother were standing in the carport when a stray pit bull came into the area and attacked the three year old. Neighbors in an attempt to help the juvenile stabbed the dog. The victim sustained critical injuries and was transported to Kennestone Hospital where he is in stable condition. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and Animal Control are still attempting to locate the dog. The dog is a brown and white pit bull that will have injuries around the ribcage area and was last seen in the area of Oak Grove off of Woodstock Road. If anyone has seen or has any information regarding the animal, please consider the animal dangerous and call 911 to get Animal Control on the scene immediately.
