Woodstock, Cherokee County, Ga. March 17, 2004 At approximately 2:30 pm, deputies from the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded to 9105 Hickory Flat Highway, Mike's Cleaners, regarding an armed robbery. A white female entered the cleaners and brandished a knife at the clerk. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money.
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Uniform Patrol Division (UPD) and Major Crimes Unit canvassed the surrounding area where witnesses were able to give information on the identification of a possible suspect. Deputies responded to the suspect's residence and placed Shelley Ray, 17 years of age, Woodstock, Ga into custody without incident. Ray is charged with armed robbery, and aggravated assault. Ray is currently being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.
