Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. April 30, 2004 On April 29, 2004, at approximately 4:45 p.m. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded to Bells Ferry and Highway 92.
A motorcycle was traveling westbound in the turn lane on Highway 92 when a white Ford Expedition attempted to make a turn out of the Wachovia Bank. The vehicle and the motorcycle crashed in the middle of the turn lane.
The driver of the motorcycle, Jimmy Dean Hardy, Jr, 45 years of age of Woodstock was air-ambulanced to North Fulton Regional Hospital where he later died. The driver of the Expedition, Robert Gibson, 57years of age of Atlanta was medically treated at the scene and released.
The Cherokee County Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the fatal car crash.
