Attorney General meets with Sheriff Garrison

Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. May 4, 2004   Attorney General Thurbert Baker met with Sheriff Garrison to discuss law enforcement issues in Cherokee County. Sheriff Garrison advised the Attorney General of how the Sheriff's Office strives to maintain an efficient approach to law enforcement practices in a rapidly growing county. Sheriff Garrison and Attorney General Baker discussed the need for law enforcement to maintain a higher standard for officer training. Sheriff Garrison also spoke to the Attorney General regarding the united efforts local Sheriff's provide in manpower such as a recent case of a missing person. Attorney General Baker stated that, "Sheriff Garrison brings valuable insight to law enforcement and the modern needs the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office faces in a rapidly growing community."
