Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. June 15, 2004  On June 15, 2004, agents from the Cherokee Multi Agency Narcotics Squad (CMANS) and the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI) executed a search warrant in reference to drug activity at an industrial park located at North Rope Mill Road near Sixes Road.

Agents obtained a search warrant and make entry into the warehouse and stopped a tractor-trailer that was leaving the warehouse at approximately 4:00 pm. Agents seized approximately 1,200 pounds of marijuana from the warehouse. Agents believe the marijuana was delivered by the tractor-trailer, which also contained frozen foods.

The case was a joint investigation between CMANS and the G.B.I., which began two months ago. Agents spent hours conducting surveillance and law enforcement resources that led to the seizure of the marijuana and the arrest of four individuals. The street value of the marijuana ranges from 1.5 to 2 million dollars. The four men arrested are currently being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with charges of trafficking marijuana of which has no bond. The names of the persons arrested are not being released at this time due to their involvement in the current investigation.
