Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. July 11, 2004 At approximately 1:30 a.m. the Cherokee Sheriff's Office responded to Highway 5 just north of Diana Drive regarding a person struck by a vehicle.
A female was reportedly walking south in the northbound lane of Highway 5 when a Dodge Intrepid struck her. The female was air-ambulanced to North Fulton Regional Hospital where she later died. The name of the victim will be released upon notification of next of kin.
The Cherokee Sheriff's Office Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the incident.
