Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. August 23, 2004 At approximately 10:00 pm, August 22, 2004, the Cherokee Sheriff's Office responded to 302 Colony Springs Road in reference to a domestic dispute.
Upon arrival to the residence, the wife, who was forced from the residence, gave information to the deputies that her husband was in the residence with their two children and there were weapons in the residence. The father refused to answer the door or talk to the deputies upon their request. The mother of the suspect told deputies that she was concerned about his emotional well being due to conversations they had earlier in the day. The Cherokee SWAT and Hostage Negotiations teams assisted deputies in getting the children out of the residence without injury or incident. The father, Lance Allen, 33 years of age, was taken into custody and charged with simple battery FVA and is being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center without a bond.
