Press Release
Halloween

Woodstock, Cherokee County, Ga. October 27, 2004   Once again, Halloween is upon us and Sheriff Roger Garrison reminds us to be safe and watch out for others. A few tips the Sheriff would like to remind the community; while out trick or treating attempt to stay in well-lighted areas, wear bright colors at night, and to use a flashlight. It is also helpful for children to trick or treat in groups so oncoming vehicles can see them. . Parents are encouraged to have their children trick-or-treat only at the houses of people they know and to be respectful of their neighbor’s property. Also, make sure your child’s candy is properly wrapped and inspected before they eat their treats.

The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Uniform Patrol Division will concentrate patrol efforts in subdivisions and residential areas during the evening of Halloween to ensure child safety. If anyone is witness to aggressive or unsafe driving while they are out trick or treating with their children, please call 911. Most of all Sheriff Garrison wants the children of Cherokee County to have a fun and safe Halloween.
