Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. November 2, 2004 The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office has taken additional security and traffic control measures as a result of high voter turnout today. Sheriff Roger Garrison said 24 off duty deputies were called in to augment the patrol force. More than 60 deputies will be in-service throughout the day and assist in traffic control and ensuring pedestrian safety at some of the busiest polling precincts. The additional officers will allow the Sheriff’s Office to answer other calls for service and respond to accidents.
