Canton, Cherokee County, Ga. November 22, 2004 In a continuing effort to maintain integrity and to ensure the public trust in the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Roger Garrison is again announcing the policy in reporting any commendations or allegations towards any of the deputies or agency personnel.
Sheriff Garrison encourages citizens to report any incidents and allegations of misconduct by deputies or to commend an employee of the Sheriff’s Office. These incidents can range from abusive language, gestures, threats, harassment, or those who may be involved in illegal activity. Corrective measures will involve a verbal warning or reprimands, remedial training, suspension and can lead to termination. Complaints must be legitimate and not the result of speeding ticket or valid arrest.
Complaints or commendation should be reported to the offending deputy’s supervisor or one of the following personnel:
